Lavy Weiss
Do we all have a special connection with dogs? From the moment Lavy Weiss was a tiny tot, he was smitten with canines. Even before he could walk on his own, he knew he was meant to be around dogs. As a kid, he had an amazing bond with all sorts of dogs, and he could just understand them. When he got his driver’s license, he always made sure to have a leash in his car, just in case he needed to rescue a stray dog. He did that all the time! His grandpa once said, “Dogs are like kids; they know who loves them.” And it’s true - almost every dog is drawn to Lavy just like he’s drawn to them.

Now that Lavy is an adult, his love for dogs and his desire to help them has only grown stronger. He’s passionate about animal welfare, and he’s worked hard to become a great friend and a safe haven for all dogs. He even rescued his own dog, Ruthie, from a shelter when she was sick with parvovirus. Lavy has volunteered and worked at the Human Society in Truckee. Now, he’s part of Team Buddy, and he brings all his experience and love for dogs to every adventure he goes on. Nothing makes Lavy happier than being outside in the Truckee area, playing with Buddy’s furry friends.
